Learn more about Weddle HV25 ransaxles.
The first step is to assemble the differential. A pattern is run on the ring and pinion and adjustments are made as necessary. Next, gear stacks are fully assembled in set up housings before final assembly. This allows us to check gear end play, backlash, stack alignment, and shift throws. If no issues are found in the set up housings, the unit moves to final assembly.
Since the Ruffian El Camino will see high-powered use on asphalt, this particular HV25 transaxle is set up with a 3.56 R&P with our tallest gear stack, ending with a .75 5th gear.
All Weddle HV2 transaxles feature ground and lightened gears, billet shift forks and shift rails, heat treated and ground pinion bearing collar, and tapered roller bearings on both shafts to handle end thrust among many other features. The Ruffian El Camino will feature a high-powered 632 Big Block and it's HV25 unit will see some hard use, so it will be equipped with the optional internal oil pump and internal oil distribution system.
